Acutonics Sound Healing

Julia follows Acutonics protocols for TMJ and hormone balance on acupuncture and marma acupressure points.

"The role of the Acutonics Sound Healing practitioner is to identify where there is an imbalance and work with the body, mind, and spirit to ease it back into balance. This is accomplished through the application of precision-calibrated tuning forks on specific acupuncture points to access the meridian and chakra energy systems."

Cupping Therapy

Acutonics Sound Healing

Cupping therapy is a decompressive technique that creates negative pressure, or suction, to lift up the skin and fascia. It creates a balanced feeling of relief that complements the compressive sensation of manual therapy through deeper levels of the soft tissues.

Discoloration in the skin can occur in a purple and bruising type of hue.

The reason is because the capillaries under the skin experience a micro amount of tissue damage. This signals the body into a localized repair mode by increasing circulation to the area.

While the skin and fascia are pulled up, space is created that allows fluid, that may have metabolic waste in it, to be freed by way of the lymphatic system.

Stationary techniques, where the cups are left in one place for a few minutes, tend to leave marks on the skin. Whereas, gliding techniques generally will not leave any marks.

This is always an option whether or not you would like this incorporated into the session. Like all treatments, it is completely customizable and unique to you. Maybe one session, you would like this, but another session, you know you will have a wedding to go to and would not like to have marks on the skin. The marks generally take 3-5 days to dissipate completely.

What is TMJ?

TMJ is a pair joint that we use to breath, talk, eat, yawn, and swallow. The two joints can become tight and restricted if they are not moving harmoniously together. 90% of chronic pain in the TMJ is due to muscular dysfunction. When it is chronically in pain from muscular dysfunction it can be successfully treated with integrated TMJ massage therapy, self-care techniques, and sound healings protocols.
